('25 T) Fermented Fruit Wagon    back  next

Built by: Jim Garubba (Plastimatic) in Sterling, Virginia

What to do with a pile of that leftover fruit?  Mash it up, of course! Then, after some time in barrels, deliver it in the Fermented Fruit Wagon!

I'd been pushing this thing to the side for ages, mostly because I didn't want to paint the fruit in the bins. :D Eventually, a set of barrels from a 39 Delivery Truck solved my dilemma (plus a couple from a Lionel train set).

The body is painted in a lemon gold, with a redone decal set (the originals were scanned and augmented).

Barrels and tarps are drybrushed, and the two-part roof was fused into a smooth one-piece. The wheels are leftover from a Grumpy's Vega I'd used to make a Toon car:  cHeavy Vegan

I did some editing to the frame as well, to align it to how the rear bed is attached to the cab.  I had used the original side pipes elsewhere along the way, so these are from the parts bin.

Now (finally) I'm glad to have this one on the shelf. As always, I appreciate y'all lookin' in!
