Li'l Gasser back next
Built by: Dave Van in Hillsboro, West Virginia
This build started out as an RC2 reissue many years ago when they issued it under the MPC label. I had never owned one of these kits, so I was very happy when they did.
The kit was a blessing and a curse. The kit came with the wrong tires, which caused the model to sit on the rear radius rods rather than the tires. I had a buddy cast some original kit tires, which I used to build this kit.
Bonus was that the kit had tons of extra parts, both cabs and many parts from Mixer and Yeller. Pretty much box stock other than the tires and decals. Dad had one job post-college, Ashland Oil, so I made the decals in honor of him.
These 'Bankrupt' era kits are not the best or easiest to build, but I love the creativity they exhibited during that era. No licensing fees or manufacturer OKs to meet.
