Surf Woody (customized)   back  next

Built by: Mike Sharpless in Philadelphia, PA

I like to think of this customized Surf Woody as the "Go Go Green Machine."

I changed this up a bit to give it that early '60s custom hot rod look. To give it a smooth look, I molded in the headlight door and rear deck.

Parts that I added are model A headlights, side pipes, roll bar, green plug wires, and a steering wheel that looks much more in scale than the kit wheel.

The green base coat was custom mixed from Tamiya park green and yellow. The metallic green fades were done with Testors Mystic Emerald. Then it was clear-coated with Testors wet look. The interior was painted with Tamiya light sand and a brown wash.
