Woody Wagon    back  next

Built by: Bob Spedding in Citrus Park, Florida

I just finished this one after only three weeks on my bench. It's built mostly right out of the box with just a couple of changes.

The first change was to cut down the front and rear springs to lower the ride height by 1/8th inch all around, this is probably not the preferred way but it was the simplest and caused no problems with the rest of the build. While working on the front I also modified it to have poseable steering. Then I swapped the front tires with some from The Parts Box which have a smaller diameter, not much but enough to add more rake to the finished model. I also removed the front license plate from the headlight crossbar, to me it cluttered things and just looks better without the plate. I also opened the exhaust and printed a rear license plate. To finish it off I printed a surfboard decal to match the box art.

The fenders and frame were molded in a Crimson Red plastic that was polished and I printed decals for the wood grain panels and then sprayed the body inside and out with Tamiya TS-13 Clear.

This is probably the easiest kit I've built in a long time, it was a pleasure to build and went together exactly like it should with no issues at all.
