Red Baron back next
Built by: Mike Sharpless in Philadelphia, PA
Thanks to Atlantis for bringing this great kit back! This kit brought back a lot of great memories from when I first built it way back in 1971.
The only issues I had with the build were that the cowl needed to be sanded down a little so that the firewall would fit the body. I also had to drill out the wheels a little so that the axles would fit. The air scoop that came with the kit looked a little rough to me, so I changed it out for one that I found in my spare parts box.
At first, I was going to airbrush it with some straight red, but instead I decided to paint it metallic red. The paint that I used was Tamiya TS-18 and top-coated with Testors wet look clear. Thanks for lookin'!
